John Singletary - The Dance of Hades

“The Dance of Hades” by artist, John Singletary, is a photograph from his body of work entitled Anahata. Anahata is a project in which I worked in a directorial fashion in collaborating with dancers, costume designers, choreographers, theater performers, makeup artists and set technicians to create large scale, narrative photographs that reference classical painting, mythology and Jungian symbolism. The work is displayed on synchronized arrays of OLED light emitting panels in a darken gallery space set to original music by Matt Hollenberg and John Singletary. The work has been exhibited at the James Oliver Gallery, The Delaware Contemporary and LUMA Festival. This image has been published in Lenscratch Magazine, The Od Review, Artdoc Magazine, L'Oeil de la Photographie, CFEVA and is represented in both institutional and private collections.
